Tokyo, Day 38 (A taste of Sweden in Japan)

So I promised to write my blog in English from now on and I'll stick to my promise.

This day started early. We woke up at 5 A.M feeling fresh and rested. After laying in bed for 2 hours, waiting for the sun to rise, we got up and took a shower and freshen us up for todays adventures. We decided to go to IKEA! Excided and full of energy we took the train to Chiba. We were told IKEA was in Chiba but what we didnt know was that Chiba is BIG! and I mean huge. Anyways, we took the metro to the station Chiba, wich sounds smart but belive me, it was not the right choice.
Thinking that IKEA was near the station Chiba, made us walking and eyeballing every building to find the letters I ,K,E,A.
We even asked the Police for directions without results. After 2 hours of endless searching we decided to cheat. I used a safety line, "Call a friend".  So I called my friend Daniel, who lives in Tokyo, and asked him for directions. He quickly googled up IKEA and told us that we were in the wrong part of Chiba.
-IKEA is aprox. 25 min with the metro the other way!
It "only" took us 50 min to get to chiba with the metro. Now we had to take the metro back.
Upset and hungry we decided to eat before taking the metro. At the lunchplace you didnt order your food at the counter, you simply put some money in a vending machine and choose what dish you wanted and you got a ticked wich you gave to the cooking lady. I got the curry and rice and robin went for the curry and noodles. At the counter someone took robins food and robin got someone else's food. It wasnt his day.

After the food I was happy and stuffed while Robin was still hungry and upset. We took the metro to minami-funabashi and finally got there. What was the first this we saw if not IKEA! The feeling was undescibable! It felt like coming home!
After a few nice pose-pictures we ran straight to the store, feeling like children in a toystore. We ran around making comments about all the Swedish names of the funitures and laughing. It was just like the IKEA in Sweden but smaller.
Still stuffed but stubborn to try the Swedish meatballs with lingonberry jam and sweet potatoes we took a plate and enjoyed every single bite. We ran around one more time before we felt satisfied. At the exit you could buy Swedish food and sweets. I bought lingonsylt (lingonberry jam), Kex chocklad (chocolate sweet), Gl'o'gg(Swdedish winter speciality), fl'a'adersaft (elderflower drink) and SVENSKA NUBBAR! (Swedish snaps)

Satisfied at the Swedish sanctuary we headed home. We got home at 17.30 and fell asleep not longer after that.

I guess you are a little bit home-sick?

Nice to see you at IKEA.
